The new coop it's fine as it is. We have to look up at what we have, what we will have, and what we possibly could have to decide if this decision is good or not and in terms of balance and fun is good. What we have: the only way to play coop is to join as babies that have special effects and share our items.

It's fine and dandy, but it's honestly not so fun when you can play as babies that can basically cheat the immortal one and the rainbow poop one to make an example , you basically can suck at the game and still win because you play with someone who abuses the power of babies, meh. This will remain and coexist with true coop. What we will have: true coop lets you choose a real second character that won't share pedestal items and can't fly but can still pickup items.

The only pedestal items both can get is the boss items. Honestly this is very balanced, since most of the time if you're a good player sometimes you won't even touch some pedestal items since they will ruin your combos or something, or something not even do much like specific interactions , but your friend can and will allow both of you to play with playstiles you want.
